Good Day, Good Day, Good Day! I had a football coach that said that in high school and I always wanted to punch him in the face when he said it. Of course it's going to be a good day for him, he gets to boss the team around, make us run, and hit in 100 degree weather. Anyway, what's up everyone? The weekend is over and it's back to the grind. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend, had some fun, and rocked out.
I was reading my last Friday's blogged and I must have been pretty aggravated. I thought about it all weekend actually and I really have no idea what I was so mad about. So people came into my store late and made me work over half hour. Big deal, it's only 30 minutes, it's not like I was going to be doing something productive those 30 minutes at home. I guess I was just in a hurry to get out of the office and head home. I tried to shut the store down 15 minutes early so I could get a head start on the weekend, but things did not work out that way for me on Friday. Friday's are supposed to be slow days for me and I was running all over the place. So I would like to apologize to everyone for my little rant that I went on. I'm sorry.
I really had no reason to be upset, I had a pretty action packed weekend. It was awesome, the weekend went by way too fast though. Friday Night I went to the witch's ball at the Civic Center. Cabell-Huntington Hospital was hosting it and it was a fundraiser to help build their future children's hospital. It's $75 a person to get into this thing. Louwisa's work had a little set up in it so me and her got in for free. We went as pirates, and we were the best looking pirates ever! I got to eat some good food and have a good time with my wife. It was funny because her work had a massage booth kind of a deal set up in it but they didn't reserve them a table to eat at. So where did you sit you say. Well me being the pirate that I was dressed as, went behind the curtains that fenced everyone in, got a table, found some chairs and set them up behind the curtains. I set them up right beside where all the food was being kept so you could just help yourself. We only lasted a little over an hour because Louwisa got tired and her feet started hurting. She is pregnant with twins you know.
Saturday was an awesome day! Joe and I went mountain biking at Barboursville Park and almost died! It was pretty sweet. We thought we had done every trail in the park, but to our surprise, we found more! We started down on one of the new trails we found and were going pretty fast even though the ground was wet and slippery. This one hill had switch backs going down it. I flew down one section of the switch backs and started to slide a little. I ended up sliding into a grapevine, the big thing that hangs down from a tree that you can swing on, and closed line myself, it was pretty sweet. Then Joe and I went down one of the trails that we already knew, it has a fork in it and we turned and went to the left the first time, so we decided we would go to the right this time. We start down the hill and I see Joe wipe out all of a sudden. I stop and we start laughing and joking, then Joe gets up and his back tire came off! It was sweet, that was a good wreck. We finally got Joe's bike up and running and took the right at the fork. This trail all of a sudden came to an end. We stopped looked around, and there was no other trail to go on. In front us, up a hill was some train tracks and a train that had stopped on it. I told Joe let's go up to the tracks and see if we can't see a trail up there. We get to the tracks and I can see the river on the other side. I told Joe that the trail we did last time was on the other side of the train. Now, Joe and I had to get around this train some how. We couldn't see the end of the train so we decided we would cut through it. We couldn't go underneath because our bikes wouldn't fit, and Joe tried to climb between the cars with his bike but that was kind of hard to climb a train car and carry your bike. We got the idea that Joe will climb over to the other side and I will hand him the bikes over the thing that connects the train cars together. Joe starts climbing the train, and I have his bike sitting on the connector waiting for him, all of a sudden the train starts moving! I have to jump out and away from the wheel so I don't get taken under, then I yell at Joe to jump off, the train is picking up some speed. Joe jumps off the train then we jog and try to grab his bike, the pedal gets stuck on something and the train is not slowing down, we finally get the bike off the train! It was awesome! I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. The train stopped again after we got the bike off. We could see the end of the train now and we went around it. We looked down the hill and there was the trail, I was right! My navigation skills are amazing. We had another problem though. We had to go down the other side of the hill on our backs because there were power lines that ran at the bottom of the trail but the wires hung over the hill. Joe and I had to slide our bikes down in front of us then limbo our way down. We did all this on coal that has fallen out of the train cars as they have gone by. Then we had to go through a thick briar bush. Finally we got on the trail and headed back to the cars. After it was all done, we headed to Quizno's and ate and just laughed at what he had done.
Sunday was amazing to. My church had a Fall Festival, and they had all kinds of stuff for kids and kid at hearts to do. My in laws and niece came down for the festival and had an awesome time. Bryan Pate and I did the sumo wrestling thing and made it very entertaining , we had a decent size crowd watching us, I dropped kicked him. Then I went in the gym and played some corn hole. Joe was on my team, we went 3-0. Then I went outside and wanted to do the Velcro suit thing. It's where you put on the Velcro suit and jump onto the sticky wall and you stick to it. I never got the chance because I wanted to throw a little kid up as high as I could on it. So Pate and Joe went and found me a little kid to throw. She put the suit on and I launched her up to the top pretty much, it was sweet! Everyone took pictures. I had to catch the girl because I threw her up high enough that I couldn't reach her, and I'm 6'3. So every little kid at this festival thing saw me do this, before you know I had like 100 kids lined up waiting to be thrown to the top of this thing. I could not feel my arms anymore after this. I had an awesome time doing it and watching all the kids laugh at it.
I know I've typed a lot but my weekend was great and I had to share it. I just sit here and think about how I was so aggravated on Friday. There's no sense in being mad or upset. Enjoy life, laugh and have a good time all the time.
You Are Here SIDE NOTE brought to you by Garmin:
I am the worlds greatest kid tosser by the way. I was launching these kids. It was awesome. Also, if you enjoy mountain biking, you have to come with me and Joe sometime, you will almost die to. It's really sweet!
